Stadspark (City Park)
In and around Antwerp there are different parks and gardens.
One of the most important is surely the city park in the center. At this triangular formed park, which lies between the Rubenslei, Van Eycklei and Quinten Matsijslei, on one side you will find hotels, and the others in close proximity of the diamond quarter and the avenues. During the day this is a beautiful park, but in the evening you must be careful. |
Plantentuin (Botanical Gardens)
This is a small but beautiful place to visit in the Leopoldsstraat. You can enjoy the many varieties of plants and flowers from a bench while having your lunch or... just take a stroll through to look around, with a stop at the fish and frog pond along your way. There is also a restaurant at the entrance. It's a lovely way to spend a few hours. |

Other interesting parks in Antwerp are the keel park at the Bernardsesteenweg, the Koning Albert park at the Mechelsesteenweg, which is designated after the deceased king Albert I, and the small, but beautiful Plantentuin in the Leopoldsstraat. |

This is the largest park in Antwerp. It is a beautiful place of refuge, where you can relax and recover from the crowds of the city. There are always lots of people enjoying themselves. There is a large playground and nearby restaurant, animals to see, quiet paths to walk on, and lots and lots of scenery. The park is pulled through from small channels. Starting from May you can admire the magnificent Rhododendren. There is also a classic lock (from the year 1777) and a monumental free light theater, which is used for film and music performances. Don't forget to visit the rose garden. |
